Valeria Altaver
Soprano

Valeria Altaver started her artistic journey with drama school at Noisiel’s National School of Dramatic Arts under the direction of Liliane Léotard and Mourad Mansourri. She landed author Argentin Copi’s title role of Eva Peron very quickly. This production was performed in both Paris and Avignon, benefiting Arte’s culture minute. Next, she participated in numerous productions with the Etincelle company within the ‘théâtre forum’ (‘forum theatre’) framework, creating plays for marionettes as well as duos for clowns. She then made her first steps on the big screen in T. Pitiot’s Soufiane et Vanessa (for which she won a special prize at Seine-Saint-Denis’s Short Film Festival). Parallel to this, Altaver began her first voice lessons at the conservatory under the direction of E. La Selva, then Sylvie Sullé with whom she still works.

We can easily hear her in Nuits Blanches au Chat Noir (a performance recapturing Yvette Guilbert’s fanciful repertory). Then comes her first classic roles: Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte, Donizzetti’s Rita, Zemphira in Rachmaninov’s Aleko, Diane in Offenbach’s Orpheus in Hades, and Héloïse in Offbach’s Bluebeard. She has worked with conductors like O. Holt, D. Levy, and A. Duclosel, along with stage directors like Y. Moran, E. Reinchenbach, H.J. Servat, and C. Huppert. We can also hear her in madrigals of Banchieri with the Studio Opera of Geneva and in Offenbach’s La Rose de Saint-Flour.
