Henri DALEM
Actors Director
After his ‘grande école’ preparatory studies, Henri Dalem followed Éloi Recoing’s theatrical production and staging methods, and founded the Quat’sous company under the age of 22 in 2002. He maintains the company’s direction and makes his mark in the staging of his productions. He lends his literary background to the service of the works he directs, selected from the classical repertory like his contemporaries do from the Italian repertory: Goldoni’s Le Campiello in 2003, Gozzi’s L’Oiseau vert in 2004, and Calvino’s Les Contes italiens in 2005.
Since 2005, he has developed an intense activity of readings-performances within his company, with Jules Verne and then focusing on Mozart. For 2006, he prepared a theatrical staging of La Guerre, a play by Goldoni never before performed in France.
At the Cours Florent, he attended the classes of Sébastien Libessart, Xavier Florent, and Véronique Vella (of the Comédie Française). He is currently working on Daniel Mesguich’s course transcriptions at CNSAD. Passionate about music, Dalem completed an internship alongside Mireille Larroche at Opera Péniche on the production of Gréty’s Zémire et Azor. He staged his first opera in 2005: Rousseau’s Le Devin du village, with the Latin Concert.
