Parallel to his studies in musicology at the Sorbonne, Geoffroy de Fontgalland followed a curriculum of voice, violin, piano, and organ. Entering Paris’s CNSM in 1998, he left the school in 2002 with a diploma in higher education after studying voice with Isabelle Guillaud, melody with Anne Grappotte, and baroque music with Emmanuelle Haïm. Next, he pursued training with Pierre Mervant, followed by courses at the University of Music in Vienna, Austria. Back in France, he obtained a DESS in Humanities and Music, “Training in the Art of the Recital”, directed by Françoise Tillard at the University of Paris III. He participated in a number of recitals in Paris and Province, and was a semi-finalist in the third International Competition of the Interpretation of French Melody in Toulouse last October. On the stage, we can hear him in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring and in the production Monteverdi directed by Emmanuelle Haïm.
