Benjamin HAMON has studied the piano, composition, musicology, harmony, and instrumental counterpoint at Paris’s CNSM, Paris’s ENM, and at the IRCAM. He is also schooled in dramaturgy, and in this field has participated in a range of theatrical productions. Interested in film, he has begun to work with cinematic techniques. Since 1998, Hamon has been essentially devoted to the development of lyrical works. Currently, he is principally working on the composition (program, orchestral music, and electro-acoustic) of three operas that constitute a trilogy. Le Terrain Vague, the first part of the trilogy, addresses the phenomenon of cooperation. It renders the integration of different forms of expression:
Le Terrain Vague was created on June 11, 2004 at Santa Cruz’s Rio Theatre (California) in French with the original stage direction of the author. It was created in French in June 2005 at the Rond-Point Theatre. Initiated by Benjamin Hamon, and revolving around this opera, the Pocket Lyrique company was created in June 2002.
